- 9.Amelia's mother is three times as old as Amelia. Four years ago her mother was five times as old as Amelia was then. Work out Amelia's age now.
- 10.Six years ago Harry was three times as old as his brother Leo. Harry is now 24 years old. Work out Leo's age now.
- 11.A scout leader is 44 years old and one of the scouts is 16 years old. Work out how many years it will be until the leader is exactly twice as old as the scout.
- 12.A number, n, is doubled and then 7 is subtracted. The result is 15. Form an equation and solve it to find n.
- 13.Ethan is 10 years old and his father is 40 years old. Work out how many years ago Ethan's father was seven times as old as Ethan.
- 14.A square has sides of length y cm. Write down an expression for the perimeter of the square.
- 15.Leo is three times as old as his brother. His brother is x years old. Write down an expression for Leo's age.
