- 1.A rectangle has length (2x + 5) cm and width (x − 2) cm. Work out an expression, in terms of x, for the perimeter of the rectangle. Give your answer in its simplest form.
- 2.A point has coordinates (−6, 9). Work out the sum of the x-coordinate and the y-coordinate.
- 3.x = 5. Work out the value of 3x² − 4.
- 4.A number machine multiplies its input by 3 and then adds 7. The output is 1. Work out the input.
- 5.Solve (3x + 2)/5 = (x + 4)/3
- 6.A cinema sells adult tickets and child tickets. On one evening, 40 tickets are sold in total. There are 8 more adult tickets sold than child tickets. Work out the number of child tickets sold.
