- 1.A circle has a radius of 3 cm. Work out the diameter of the circle.

- 9.Two points on a circle divide its circumference into two arcs of different lengths. Write down the name given to the shorter of the two arcs.
- 10.A tangent to a circle with centre O touches the circle at point P, where OP = 5 cm. Point Q lies on the tangent so that PQ = 12 cm. Using the fact that a tangent is perpendicular to the radius at the point of contact, work out the length OQ.
- 11.A chord divides a circle into two segments of different sizes. Write down the name given to the smaller of the two segments.
- 12.A chord is drawn across a circle, dividing the circle into two regions. Write down the name of one of these two regions.
- 13.A circular table mat has diameter 20 cm. Yasmin has a 70 cm length of ribbon and sews it around the edge of the mat with no overlap. Using π = 3.14, work out how much ribbon is left over after going around the mat once.
- 14.Every point on a circle is exactly the same distance from one particular point. Write down the name of that point.
- 15.A circle has centre O. PQ, RS and TU are three chords of the circle, and only one of them passes through O. Write down what this tells you about that chord.
