- 1.Write down which one of these statements about quadrilaterals is true.
- 2.The cross-section of a tent is an isosceles triangle. The angle at the top, between the two equal sloping sides, is 62°. The other two angles are equal to each other. Work out the size of each of those two angles.
- 3.In parallelogram ABCD the vertices are labelled in order round the shape, so angle A and angle B are at the two ends of the same side. Angle A is 70°. Work out the size of angle B.
- 4.In quadrilateral ABCD the two sides AB and BC are each 6 cm long and meet each other at B. The two sides CD and DA are each 9 cm long and meet each other at D. No side of ABCD is parallel to any other side. Write down the mathematical name of this quadrilateral.
- 5.In a kite, one pair of opposite angles are equal in size. In kite WXYZ, angle X = 40° and angle Z = 100° are the two angles that are NOT equal to each other. The other two angles, W and Y, are equal to each other. Work out the size of angle W.
- 6.Quadrilateral PQRS has angle P = 92°, angle Q = 84° and angle R = 106°. Work out the size of angle S.
- 7.A trapezium-shaped allotment plot has two parallel sides that face each other, and two sloping sides that are equal in length (an isosceles trapezium). One of the angles next to the shorter parallel side is 118°. Work out the angle next to the other end of the same shorter parallel side.
- 8.Write down the name given to a triangle whose three sides are all the same length.
- 9.Write down the number of lines of symmetry a rhombus has.
- 10.In an isosceles triangle each of the two base angles is 46°. Work out the size of the angle at the apex.
- 11.Quadrilateral WXYZ has WX parallel to ZY, and WZ = XY (the two non-parallel sides are equal in length). Give a reason why angle W = angle X.
- 12.Write down how many right angles a right-angled triangle has.
- 13.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 14.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 15.Write down the mathematical name for a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
