- 1.A recipe uses 1.25 kg of flour. Work out how many grams of flour this is.
- 2.A fish tank is a cuboid measuring 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high. Water is poured in to a depth of 20 cm. Work out the volume of water in the tank, in litres.
- 3.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and an area of 4.71 cm². Using π = 3.14, work out the angle of the sector.
- 4.Two vertical masts stand on level ground, 40 m apart. One mast is 30 m tall and the other is 50 m tall. Work out the straight-line distance between the tops of the two masts. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 5.A sector of a circle has radius 12 cm and angle 45°. Using π = 3.14, work out the area of the sector.
- 6.Write down which quadrant contains the point (−3, 5) when plotted on a coordinate grid.
- 7.A sector of a circle has an angle of 90° and an arc length of 15.7 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.

- 10.A triangular sail for a small boat has a base of 2.4 m and a height of 1.75 m. Sailcloth costs £12.50 per m². Work out the total cost of the sailcloth needed for the sail.
- 11.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and angle 60°. Work out the arc length of the sector, in terms of π.
- 12.Two angles lie on a straight line. One angle is 37°. Work out the size of the other angle.
- 13.Sam says: '3.2 litres is the same as 320 ml, because you multiply by 100.' Which statement about Sam's claim is correct?
- 14.A model of a bridge is built to a scale where every length on the model is 1/240 of the matching length on the real bridge. A support beam on the model measures 3.6 cm. Work out the length of the real support beam, giving your answer in metres.
- 15.A plan of a school hall uses a scale of 1 : 250. A wall is drawn 3.4 cm long on the plan. Sam wants to know the wall's real length in metres. What is it?
