- 1.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and angle 150°. Using π = 3.14, work out the perimeter of the sector.

- 3.A room measures 4.2 m by 3.6 m. A flooring company needs the area in cm² to order the right amount of vinyl flooring. Work out the area of the room in cm².

- 8.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, AB = DE, angle ABC = angle DEF and BC = EF. Write down the congruence condition that proves the two triangles are congruent.
- 9.A ship's radar shows a lighthouse at the point (12, −4) on a grid measured in nautical miles. The ship is at (2, 5). The ship sails along the vector that takes it directly to the lighthouse, then sails along that same vector again. Work out the ship's final position.
- 10.A circular garden pond has a diameter of 5 m. A gardener is laying gravel around it in a ring-shaped path 1 m wide, measured outward from the edge of the pond. Work out the area of the gravel path. Use π = 3.14.
- 11.A footpath sign shows a distance of 0.45 km to the next village. Work out this distance in metres.
- 12.A kitchen scale is marked in equal divisions of 20 g. The pointer rests three divisions past the 400 g mark. Work out the reading on the scale.
- 13.A solid cone has a base radius of 6 cm and a vertical height of 10 cm. Work out the volume of the cone. Use π = 3.14 and give your answer correct to 1 decimal place.
- 14.A sector of a circle has an angle of 90° and an arc length of 15.7 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 15.A map has a scale of 1 : 20 000. The distance between two villages is 3.4 km in real life. How long is this distance on the map, in centimetres?
