- 6.A wooden cube has edges of length 4 cm. Work out the total surface area of the cube.
- 7.Shape S is enlarged by a scale factor of 3, centre the origin. A vertex of S is at (2, 1). Work out the coordinates of the image of this vertex.
- 8.A shape is translated by the vector , and one vertex of the image is at the point (1, 6). The original shape is instead translated by the vector . Work out the coordinates of the image of that same vertex under this second translation.
- 9.A right-angled triangle has angles of 90°, 40° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 10.Three angles meet at a single point on one side of a straight line. Two of the angles are 48° and 65°. Work out the third angle.

- 12.A cylindrical candle and a cone-shaped candle have the same base radius and the same height. State the cone's volume as a fraction of the cylinder's volume.
- 13.After a translation by the vector , a point lands on (4, 1). Write down the coordinates of the point before the translation.
- 14.A garden bed is designed as a trapezium. The two parallel sides are 8 m and 12 m, and the perpendicular distance between them is 5 m. Grass seed covers 4 m² per bag, sold only in whole bags. Work out how many bags of grass seed are needed.
- 15.A scale model of a bridge is built so that 2 cm on the model represents 5 m of the real bridge. The real bridge is 45 m long. Work out the length of the model bridge, in centimetres.
