- 1.A line segment joins A(1, 1) and B(4, 7). Write down the sign of the gradient of this line.
- 2.Lines JK and LM are parallel. A straight line crosses JK at point P and crosses LM at point Q. Angle KPQ = 118°. Angle KPQ and angle MQP are co-interior (allied) angles. Work out angle MQP.
- 3.A radar station is at the origin of a grid, where each unit represents 1 km. A boat is detected at the point (7, 24). Work out the boat's distance from the station, then work out how many hours it will take the boat to reach the station travelling directly towards it at 5 km per hour.
- 4.A sector of a circle has radius 5 cm and angle 72°. Work out the arc length of the sector, in terms of π.
- 5.Write down which one of these statements about quadrilaterals is true.
- 6.A regular polygon has an interior angle of 156°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 7.Two similar ponds have perimeters in the ratio 4 : 11. The perimeter of the larger pond is 88 m. Work out the perimeter of the smaller pond.
- 8.Triangle ABC and triangle DEF both contain a right angle, at B and E respectively, and the hypotenuses AC and DF are equal in length. Which extra fact would prove the triangles are congruent by RHS?
- 9.In a right-angled triangle, θ is one of the acute angles. Write down the trigonometric ratio, in terms of the opposite and adjacent sides, that is used to find θ.
- 10.A bus journey takes 2.5 hours. Work out how many minutes this is.
- 11.Two of the angles in a triangle are 50° and 70°. Work out the size of the third angle.
- 12.A chocolate bar is a prism. Its cross-section is a triangle with a base of 6 cm and a perpendicular height of 5 cm, and the bar is 12 cm long. Work out the volume of the bar.
- 13.In triangle ABC the angle at A is 90° and BC = 10 cm. For the angle at B, sin B = 3/5. Work out the length of AC.
- 14.Priya says: 'To find the arc length of a sector, you divide the circumference by the angle in degrees.' Which statement about Priya's method is correct?
- 15.Work out the distance between the point (0, 0) and the point (5, 12).
