- 1.A parallelogram has an area of 96 cm² and a base of 8 cm. Work out the perpendicular height of the parallelogram.
- 2.A warehouse stores identical cube-shaped crates. Its plan view is a 2 by 4 rectangle of crate positions, and every position is filled to a height of 3 crates, except one corner position, which has only 2 crates stacked on it because a delivery was incomplete. How many crates are there in total?
- 3.Three of these are rational numbers and one is irrational. Write down the one that is irrational.
- 4.The column vector describes a translation. Write down the movement it represents.
- 5.A trapezium has parallel sides of 5 cm and 11 cm, and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
- 6.Lines PQ and RS are parallel. A straight line crosses PQ at point X and crosses RS at point Y. Angle PXY = 63°. Angle PXY and angle XYS are co-interior (allied) angles, which add up to 180°. Work out the size of angle XYS.
- 7.Write down the column vector that describes a translation of 4 units to the right and 4 units up.
- 8.A straight line crosses a pair of parallel lines. At one of the crossing points, one of the four angles measures 55°. Work out the size of the angle next to it on a straight line at that crossing point.
- 9.A tap fills a tank at a rate of 18 litres per minute. The tank holds 0.45 m³. Work out how long the tap takes to fill the tank.
- 10.A parallelogram has a base of 9 cm and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. Work out its area.
- 11.A hiker walks on a bearing of 065°. She then turns clockwise through 90° and continues walking in a straight line. What bearing is she now walking on?
- 12.Three angles lie on a straight line. They measure 38°, 95° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 13.A sector of a circle is bounded by two straight edges and one curved edge. Write down the mathematical term for each of the two straight edges.
- 14.A scale drawing shows a room that is 5 cm wide. The real room is 15 m wide. Write the scale of the drawing in the form 1 : n.
- 15.All four sides of a rhombus are the same length. One side of a rhombus is 7 cm long. Work out the perimeter of the rhombus.
