- 1.State whether the line segment joining A(−4, 3) and B(2, 6) is horizontal, vertical or neither, and give a reason for your answer.
- 2.A map has a scale of 1 cm : 5 km. A road is drawn 3 cm long on the map. What is the real length of the road?

- 9.A garden water trough is a prism whose cross-section is a right-angled triangle with base 40 cm and height 30 cm. The trough is 120 cm long. Work out the volume of water needed to fill the trough completely.
- 10.Two straight lines PQ and RS cross at point O. Angle POR = 52°. Work out angle QOS.
- 11.A rectangular notice board measures 150 cm by 80 cm. Work out its area in m².
- 12.A regular nonagon has 9 sides. Work out the sum of its interior angles.
- 13.A line segment joins A(1, 1) and B(4, 7). Write down the sign of the gradient of this line.
- 14.A right-angled triangle has two sides of length 5 cm and 12 cm, and the angle between those two sides is 90°. Work out the length of the hypotenuse.
- 15.A fish tank is a cuboid measuring 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high. Water is poured in to a depth of 20 cm. Work out the volume of water in the tank, in litres.
