- 1.Compasses are opened to exactly half the length of AB, and arcs are drawn centred at A and at B, to construct the perpendicular bisector of AB. Why does this fail?
- 2.A straight line passes through points A, B and C, with B between A and C. A fourth point D is not on the line. Angle ABD = 132°. Work out the size of angle DBC.
- 3.A map has a scale of 1 cm : 5 km. A road is drawn 3 cm long on the map. What is the real length of the road?
- 4.Priya says: 'To find the arc length of a sector, you divide the circumference by the angle in degrees.' Which statement about Priya's method is correct?
- 5.Lines GH and JK are parallel. A straight line crosses GH at point M and crosses JK at point N. Angle HMN = 71°. Angle HMN and angle MNK are alternate angles. Work out angle MNK.
- 6.A perpendicular bisector is drawn through the midpoint of a line segment AB. Which set of points does this construction show?

- 9.The point (2, 5) is translated 3 units right and 4 units down. Work out the coordinates of the image point.
- 10.A shop stacks identical storage crates in a display. The diagram shows the plan of the floor positions used, with one corner position marked. Every floor position is filled with crates stacked 3 high, except the marked corner position, which is left completely empty. Work out how many crates are used in total.
- 11.Quadrilateral ABCD has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1), C(5, 4) and D(1, 4). The quadrilateral is translated by the vector . Which of these points is NOT a vertex of the image?
- 12.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, AB = DE, AC = DF, and the angle at A equals the angle at D. Write down the congruence condition that proves the two triangles are congruent.
- 13.A recipe uses 0.75 kg of sugar. Work out how many grams of sugar this is.
- 14.A rectangular photograph is 12 cm long and 5 cm wide. Work out the perimeter of the photograph.
