- 1.Angle ABC is 130°. The line BF divides angle ABC into two equal parts. Work out the size of angle FBC.
- 2.Triangle ABC has AB = 8 cm, angle B = 50° and BC = 6 cm. Triangle DEF has DE = 8 cm, angle E = 50° and EF = 6 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 3.A circle is drawn on a page. Write down how many radii can be drawn in the circle.
- 4.The diagram shows the plan, front elevation and side elevation of a solid. Which solid could this be?
- 5.A solid is a single cube. Its plan view (from above), front elevation (from the front) and side elevation (from the side) are drawn separately. What shape is each of these three views?
- 6.A builder props a straight plank against a vertical wall to reach a window ledge. The foot of the plank is 2.1 m from the base of the wall, and the plank is 3.5 m long. Work out how high up the wall the plank reaches.
- 7.A ship sails 12 km on a bearing of 070° from a harbour to a buoy. It then sails a further 9 km, still on a bearing of 070°, from the buoy to a lighthouse. How far is the lighthouse from the harbour, in kilometres?
- 8.A regular polygon has an exterior angle of 45°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 9.In quadrilateral ABCD, side AB is parallel to side DC. Which statement correctly uses geometric notation to show this?
- 10.Write down the exact value of sin 60°.
- 11.A circular plate has a diameter of 20 cm. Work out the area of the plate. Use π = 3.14.
- 12.A circle has two straight radii drawn from the centre to the edge, together with the arc between them. Write down the name of the region enclosed by these two radii and the arc.
- 13.A scale drawing of a bridge uses a scale of 1 : 25. A support beam on the drawing measures 4.4 cm. What is the real length of the beam, in metres?
- 14.A ramp is built from two straight metal supports that rest on the flat ground and meet each other at the top, forming a triangle with the ground. One support meets the ground at 34°. The angle between the two supports where they meet is 71°. Work out the angle between the second support and the ground.
- 15.Point C is at (2, 3). It is rotated 90° clockwise about the origin. Work out the coordinates of the image of point C.
