- 1.Two triangles are congruent to each other. What does this tell you about their angles and sides?
- 2.Two similar triangles have lengths in the ratio 3 : 4. The perimeter of the smaller triangle is 24 cm. Work out the perimeter of the larger triangle.
- 3.A furniture catalogue drawing uses a scale of 1 cm to 1.5 m. A sofa in the drawing is measured as 7 cm long. What is the real length of the sofa, in metres?
- 4.A square has sides of length 7 cm. Work out its area.
- 5.A drone starts at the point (3.5, −2) on a grid measured in metres. It flies by the vector to check a first sensor. The drone then needs to fly in a straight line to reach the point (−1.7, 9) to check a second sensor. Work out the column vector of this second flight.
- 6.A radar station is at the origin of a grid, where each unit represents 1 km. A boat is detected at the point (7, 24). Work out the boat's distance from the station, then work out how many hours it will take the boat to reach the station travelling directly towards it at 5 km per hour.
- 7.Work out the exact value of (sin 30°)² + (cos 30°)².
- 8.A solid has 6 faces and 8 vertices. Using the formula F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 9.A rectangular photograph is 12 cm long and 5 cm wide. Work out the perimeter of the photograph.
- 10.A ladder rests against a wall, making an angle of 60° with the ground. The ladder is 2 m long. Using the exact value of sin 60°, work out how high up the wall the ladder reaches, giving your answer in centimetres.
- 11.Line 1 passes through (0, 1) and (2, 5). Line 2 passes through (3, 2) and (5, 6). Work out the gradient of each line. Then write down whether the two lines are parallel.
- 12.What does the statement AB = CD mean, where A, B, C and D are all points?
- 13.Write down which one of these statements about quadrilaterals is true.
- 14.Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. A side of the smaller shape is 4 cm long. Work out the length of the corresponding side of the larger shape.
- 15.A perpendicular bisector is drawn through the midpoint of a line segment AB. Which set of points does this construction show?
