- 1.A fish tank is a cuboid measuring 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high. Water is poured in to a depth of 20 cm. Work out the volume of water in the tank, in litres.
- 2.Write down how many right angles a right-angled triangle has.
- 3.A wooden cube has edges of length 4 cm. Work out the total surface area of the cube.
- 4.Triangle ABC has AB = 8 cm, angle B = 50° and BC = 6 cm. Triangle DEF has DE = 8 cm, angle E = 50° and EF = 6 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 5.Lines AB and CD are parallel. A straight line EF crosses AB at point P and crosses CD at point Q. At P, angle APE = 65°. Angle APE and angle BPQ are vertically opposite. Angle BPQ and angle PQD are co-interior (allied) angles. Work out angle PQD.
- 6.A square-based pyramid is cut by a flat plane parallel to its base, partway up between the base and the apex. What shape is the cross-section?
- 7.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 8.Point C is at (5, 2). It is reflected in the x-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image of point C.
- 9.Write down the mathematical name for a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 10.The diagram shows a cuboid. Work out the area of its front elevation, in square centimetres.
- 11.The midpoint of the line segment AB is (3, 5). A is the point (1, 3). Work out the coordinates of B.
- 12.A cylinder has a radius of 5 cm. Its volume is 471 cm³. Using π = 3.14, work out the height of the cylinder.
- 13.Triangle T has a vertex at (8, 4). It is enlarged by a scale factor of 1/2, centre (2, 4). Work out the coordinates of the image of this vertex.
- 14.A cuboid has three different edge lengths: a length, a width and a height, all different from each other. How many rectangles make up its net in total?
- 15.A train leaves Leeds at 08:47 and arrives in London at 11:05. Work out how long the journey takes.
