- 1.Two angles lie on a straight line. One angle is 118°. Which reason correctly explains why the other angle is 62°?
- 2.Write down the name given to a triangle whose three sides are all the same length.
- 3.Every point on a circle is exactly the same distance from one particular point. Write down the name of that point.
- 4.A warehouse stores identical cube-shaped crates. Its plan view is a 2 by 4 rectangle of crate positions, and every position is filled to a height of 3 crates, except one corner position, which has only 2 crates stacked on it because a delivery was incomplete. How many crates are there in total?
- 5.Two straight paths cross at a junction in a park. One of the angles between them, measured with a protractor, is 76°. What is the size of the angle immediately next to it on a straight line?
- 6.A solid pyramid has a square base of side 6 cm. Its apex is directly above the centre of the base, at a vertical height of 8 cm. Work out the volume of the pyramid.
- 7.A circular clock face has a diameter of 18 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14.
- 8.P is the point (3, 4) and Q is the point (6, 0). Work out the distance of each point from the origin, and write down which point is closer to the origin.
- 9.A cylindrical drum and a cuboid box are being wrapped for a display. A shop assistant wraps only the flat faces of each item, not any curved surface. How many flat faces in total does the assistant wrap across both items?
- 10.A map has a scale of 1 : 25000. A distance between two points measures 2 cm on the map. What is the real distance, in kilometres?
- 11.A solid has 5 faces: one square face and four triangular faces, which all meet at a single point above the square. What is the name of this solid?
- 12.A hiker starts by walking on a bearing of 245°. She turns clockwise through 50°, then turns clockwise through a further 15°, and continues walking in a straight line. What bearing is she now walking on?
- 13.A circle has a radius of 1 cm. Work out the circumference of the circle. Give your answer in terms of π.
- 14.Put sin 30°, tan 30° and cos 30° in order of size, starting with the smallest.
- 15.A regular polygon has 12 sides. Work out the size of one exterior angle of the polygon.
