- 1.A triangular flag has a base of 40 cm and a perpendicular height of 25 cm. Work out its area.
- 2.A shop stacks tins in a display block. The front elevation of the block is 4 tins wide and 3 tins high. The side elevation shows the block is 2 tins deep. Every position in the block is filled. How many tins are used in total?
- 3.A translation moves the point (1, 1) to the point (9, 4). Write down the column vector of this translation.
- 4.A rectangular notice board measures 150 cm by 80 cm. Work out its area in m².
- 5.A chord divides a circle into two regions, one larger than the other. Write down the term used for the smaller of these two regions.
- 6.In quadrilateral ABCD the two sides AB and BC are each 6 cm long and meet each other at B. The two sides CD and DA are each 9 cm long and meet each other at D. No side of ABCD is parallel to any other side. Write down the mathematical name of this quadrilateral.

- 8.A cylinder has a radius of 5 cm. Its volume is 471 cm³. Using π = 3.14, work out the height of the cylinder.
- 9.Work out the exact value of (cos 45°)² + (sin 45°)².
- 10.A cube has all of its edges the same length. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 11.Here are four trigonometric ratios of special angles. Write down the one that does not have a value.
- 12.A straight line crosses a pair of parallel lines. At one of the crossing points, one of the four angles measures 55°. Work out the size of the angle next to it on a straight line at that crossing point.
- 13.Work out the distance between the points (−3, 4) and (5, −2).
- 14.A triangular prism has two triangular end faces and three rectangular faces joining them. How many faces does it have in total?
- 15.Two sides of a triangle are 9 cm and 15 cm long. Write down which one of these lengths is possible for the third side.
