- 1.A chocolate bar is a prism. Its cross-section is a triangle with a base of 6 cm and a perpendicular height of 5 cm, and the bar is 12 cm long. Work out the volume of the bar.
- 2.Which of the following is NOT one of the four basic conditions used to prove two triangles are congruent?
- 3.The point A(3, 2) is translated by the vector (−5, 4) to give point B. Work out the coordinates of B.
- 4.A circle has centre O. Radii OA and OB are drawn, together with the arc AB, enclosing a sector. The straight chord AB is also drawn. Write down the name of the region enclosed between the chord AB and the arc AB.
- 5.A solid has 6 faces and 8 vertices. Using the formula F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 6.A bottle holds 2 litres of water. A glass holds 250 ml. Work out how many of these glasses can be filled from one full bottle.
- 7.In the RHS congruence condition, which three facts must be true about two triangles for RHS to prove they are congruent?
- 8.A path goes from A(1, 1) to B(1, 5), then from B to C(6, 5). Work out the total length of the path from A to C.
- 9.Write down the column vector, from the options given, that would move a point to the right and downwards.
- 10.A cube has all of its edges the same length. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 11.A straight fence is 5 m long. Describe the shape of the region made up of every point on the ground within 2 m of any part of the fence.
- 12.A trapezium has parallel sides of 5 cm and 11 cm, and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
- 13.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, the angle at A equals the angle at D, and AB ÷ DE = AC ÷ DF. Write down what this proves about the two triangles.
- 14.A garden designer describes a flower bed as a shape with four straight sides: exactly one pair of sides is parallel, those two parallel sides are different lengths, and the other two sides are equal in length to each other but not parallel to each other. Which shape should the designer draw?
- 15.A solid has 4 triangular faces, 4 vertices and 6 edges. What is the name of this solid?
