- 1.A straight line crosses two parallel lines. One of the angles formed is (2x + 10)°, and the angle alternate to it is 74°. Work out the value of x.
- 2.A trapezium has parallel sides of 16 cm and 24 cm, and a perpendicular height of 7 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
- 3.A cuboid has three different edge lengths: a length, a width and a height, all different from each other. How many rectangles make up its net in total?
- 4.Triangle ABC has AB = 8 cm, BC = 10 cm and CA = 6 cm. Triangle LMN has LM = 10 cm, MN = 6 cm and NL = 8 cm. The two triangles are congruent by SSS. Which of the following correctly matches the corresponding vertices?
- 5.In a kite, one pair of opposite angles are equal in size. In kite WXYZ, angle X = 40° and angle Z = 100° are the two angles that are NOT equal to each other. The other two angles, W and Y, are equal to each other. Work out the size of angle W.
- 6.Two triangles are congruent to each other. What does this tell you about their angles and sides?
- 7.Triangle LMN has a right angle at M, with hypotenuse LN = 15 cm and LM = 9 cm. Triangle PQR has a right angle at Q, with hypotenuse PR = 15 cm and PQ = 9 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 8.The point (4, −3) is reflected in the y-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image point.
- 9.Two similar triangles have lengths in the ratio 2 : 5. The sides of the smaller triangle are 4 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm. Work out the length of the longest side of the larger triangle.
- 10.A cylindrical drum and a cuboid box are being wrapped for a display. A shop assistant wraps only the flat faces of each item, not any curved surface. How many flat faces in total does the assistant wrap across both items?
- 11.A circular coaster has a radius of 4 cm. Work out the circumference of the coaster. Give your answer in terms of π.
- 12.A circular clock face has a diameter of 18 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14.
- 13.A circle has centre O. PQ, RS and TU are three chords of the circle, and only one of them passes through O. Write down what this tells you about that chord.
- 14.A solid has 5 faces, 9 edges and 6 vertices. Two of its faces are triangles and the other three are rectangles. Which solid is it?
- 15.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, the angle at A equals the angle at D, and AB ÷ DE = AC ÷ DF. Write down what this proves about the two triangles.
