- 1.A quadrilateral has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1), C(6, 4) and D(2, 4). By comparing the y-coordinates of A, B and of D, C, write down whether the sides AB and DC are parallel, and give a reason for your answer.
- 2.A right-angled triangle has angles of 90°, 40° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 3.The diagram shows the plan, front elevation and side elevation of a solid. Which solid could this be?
- 4.Point E is at (4, 2). It is rotated 180° about the point (1, 1). Work out the coordinates of the image of point E.
- 5.The angle between north and a cycle path is 40°, but it is measured anticlockwise from north. What is the three-figure bearing of the cycle path?
- 6.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 7.The point A(3, 2) is translated by the vector (−5, 4) to give point B. Work out the coordinates of B.
- 8.A flower bed in the shape of a parallelogram has a base of 3.5 m and a perpendicular height of 2 m. Compost costs £4.80 per m². Work out the total cost of covering the flower bed with compost.
- 9.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 10.A straight line touches the edge of a circle at exactly one point and does not cross into the circle at all. Write down the term for this line.
- 11.a is the column vector with top number 3 and bottom number 2. b is the column vector with top number −1 and bottom number 4. Work out a + b, giving your answer as a column vector in the form (top, bottom).
- 12.A straight line crosses a pair of parallel lines. At one of the crossing points, one of the four angles measures 55°. Work out the size of the angle next to it on a straight line at that crossing point.
- 13.A(1, 2), B(5, 2) and C(5, 6) are three of the four vertices of a square ABCD. Work out the coordinates of D.
- 14.The point A(2, 5) is translated to the point B(7, 3). Write down the column vector that describes this translation.
- 15.A solid has 5 faces: one square face and four triangular faces, which all meet at a single point above the square. What is the name of this solid?
