- 1.A trapezium has parallel sides of 16 cm and 24 cm, and a perpendicular height of 7 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
- 2.A solid has one curved surface and two flat circular faces of equal size, one at each end. What is the name of this solid?
- 3.A trundle wheel has a diameter of 0.5 m. It is rolled along the ground and makes 20 complete turns. Using π = 3.14, work out the total distance rolled, in metres.
- 4.A shape is translated by the vector , and one vertex of the image is at the point (1, 6). The original shape is instead translated by the vector . Work out the coordinates of the image of that same vertex under this second translation.
- 5.Write down which one of these quadrilaterals always has diagonals that are equal in length and that cross at right angles.
- 6.A solid has 6 faces and 8 vertices. Using the formula F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 7.Triangle ABC is drawn. The interior angle bisectors from vertices A and B are constructed and meet at point I inside the triangle. Which statement about point I must be true?
- 8.The point (2, 5) is translated 3 units right and 4 units down. Work out the coordinates of the image point.
- 9.A square tile has sides of length 4.5 cm. Work out the perimeter of the tile.
- 10.The column vector r has top number 2 and bottom number 6. Which of these column vectors is parallel to r?
- 11.A circular table mat has diameter 20 cm. Yasmin has a 70 cm length of ribbon and sews it around the edge of the mat with no overlap. Using π = 3.14, work out how much ribbon is left over after going around the mat once.
- 12.Point B is at (3, 5). It is reflected in the line y = 2. Work out the coordinates of the image of point B.
- 13.Two triangles are similar. The sides of the first triangle are 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm. The shortest side of the second triangle is 9 cm. Work out the scale factor from the first triangle to the second.
- 14.Point D is at (3, 7). It is reflected in the line y = x. Work out the coordinates of the image of point D.y = x
- 15.A cone is cut by a flat plane parallel to its circular base, partway up between the base and the apex. What shape is the cross-section?
