- 1.A triangular bunting flag has two equal sides. The angle between those two equal sides is 80°, and the other two angles of the flag are equal to each other. Work out the size of each of the two equal angles.
- 2.A student draws a net using 5 identical squares arranged in a row of four with one extra square attached to the side of one of them. Can this net be folded to make a closed cube?
- 3.A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 29 cm and one shorter side of 20 cm. Work out the length of the other shorter side.
- 4.Triangle JKL has a right angle at K, hypotenuse JL = 13 cm, and side JK = 5 cm. Triangle MNO has a right angle at N, hypotenuse MO = 13 cm, and side MN = 5 cm. Using only the facts given, and without working out any further lengths, write down the congruence condition that proves triangle JKL is congruent to triangle MNO.
- 5.A conservatory has a roof panel shaped like a regular octagon. Work out the interior angle of the octagon, then use it to work out the size of the reflex angle at the same vertex, on the outside of the roof panel.
- 6.How many faces does a cuboid have?
- 7.Two identical ladders lean against the same vertical wall from opposite sides, each making an angle of 58.2° with the ground. The two ladders and the ground form a triangle. Work out the size of the angle between the two ladders at the top, where they meet.
- 8.A student says the reverse of the translation vector is . Write down the correct reverse translation vector.
- 9.The diagram shows a solid made from two cuboids joined together. Which shape is the front elevation of this solid?
- 10.The point (0, −5) lies on one of the two coordinate axes. Write down which axis this is.
- 11.Triangle T has a vertex at (8, 4). It is enlarged by a scale factor of 1/2, centre (2, 4). Work out the coordinates of the image of this vertex.
- 12.A rhombus has all four sides equal in length. Write down how many pairs of parallel sides a rhombus has.
- 13.A rectangular bookmark measures 2 cm by 25 cm. Work out the area of the bookmark.
- 14.A transversal crosses a pair of parallel lines. At one line, the angle is (5x + 4)°. The corresponding angle at the other line is (3x + 24)°. Work out the value of x.
- 15.Two straight lines cross at a point. Which statement about a pair of vertically opposite angles is always true?
