- 1.The midpoint of the line segment AB is (3, 5). A is the point (1, 3). Work out the coordinates of B.
- 2.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 3.Priya says: 'To find the arc length of a sector, you divide the circumference by the angle in degrees.' Which statement about Priya's method is correct?
- 4.A scale drawing of a park uses a scale of 1 : 2000. A path is drawn 8.5 cm long on the drawing. A cyclist rides the length of the path and then rides straight back again along the same path. How far does the cyclist travel in total, in metres?
- 5.Which pair of points lies on a horizontal line when the points are plotted on a coordinate grid?
- 6.m is the column vector with top number 3 and bottom number −4. Which of these column vectors is a scalar multiple of m?
- 7.In parallelogram PQRS, angle P = 65°. Which reason correctly explains why angle R = 65°?
- 8.A triangle has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1) and C(5, 4). Work out the lengths of AB, BC and CA, and write down whether triangle ABC is right-angled.
- 9.A wooden cube has edges of length 4 cm. Work out the total surface area of the cube.
- 10.A hexagon has interior angles of 130°, 142°, 125°, 150°, 135° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 11.A(1, 2), B(5, 2) and C(5, 6) are three of the four vertices of a square ABCD. Work out the coordinates of D.
- 12.A cheese counter sells cheddar at £8.40 per kilogram. Work out the cost of a 350 g piece of cheddar.
- 13.How many vertices does a square-based pyramid have?
- 14.A designer enlarges a drawing of a model car for a poster. She first enlarges the drawing by a scale factor of 1.5, and then enlarges that result by a further scale factor of 2. On the original drawing, the position of a wheel relative to the front bumper is given by the column vector with top number 4 and bottom number −3, in centimetres. What is the corresponding column vector on the poster, in centimetres?
- 15.A trapezium-shaped allotment plot has two parallel sides that face each other, and two sloping sides that are equal in length (an isosceles trapezium). One of the angles next to the shorter parallel side is 118°. Work out the angle next to the other end of the same shorter parallel side.
