- 1.The diagram shows the plan, front elevation and side elevation of a solid. Which of these solids matches all three views?
- 2.A drone starts at the point (3.5, −2) on a grid measured in metres. It flies by the vector to check a first sensor. The drone then needs to fly in a straight line to reach the point (−1.7, 9) to check a second sensor. Work out the column vector of this second flight.
- 3.Triangle ABC has a right angle at B. Triangle DEF has a right angle at E. The hypotenuse of triangle ABC equals the hypotenuse of triangle DEF, and side AB equals side DE. Which condition proves that the two triangles are congruent?
- 4.The perimeter of a square is 20 cm. Work out the area of the square.
- 5.u is the column vector with top number 7 and bottom number 3. v is the column vector with top number 2 and bottom number 5. Work out u − v, giving your answer as a column vector in the form (top, bottom).
- 6.Triangles PQS and RQS share the common side QS. PQ equals RQ, and PS equals RS. Which condition proves that triangle PQS is congruent to triangle RQS?
- 7.A circle has circumference 31.4 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 8.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 9.A circle is drawn on a page. Write down how many radii can be drawn in the circle.
- 10.The column vector r has top number 2 and bottom number 6. Which of these column vectors is parallel to r?
- 11.A circular coaster has a radius of 4 cm. Work out the circumference of the coaster. Give your answer in terms of π.
- 12.Two triangular offcuts of wood, PQR and STU, are cut for a construction project. PQ = 8 cm, QR = 6 cm and angle PQR = 90°. ST = 8 cm, TU = 6 cm and angle STU = 90°. A carpenter wants to check the two pieces are identical in shape and size before using them as a matching pair. Using only the measurements given, and without working out any further lengths, which condition proves that triangle PQR is congruent to triangle STU?
- 13.To construct the perpendicular from a point P to a line l, where P is a point above l, an arc centred at P is drawn to cross l at two points, X and Y. What is the correct next step?
- 14.Triangle ABC and triangle DEF both contain a right angle, at B and E respectively, and the hypotenuses AC and DF are equal in length. Which extra fact would prove the triangles are congruent by RHS?
- 15.Triangle DEF is isosceles, with DE = DF. Angle E = 58°. Give a reason why angle F = 58°.
