- 1.The diagram shows a cuboid. Work out the area of its front elevation, in square centimetres.
- 2.A vertical line passes through the point (5, 2). Write down the equation of this line.
- 3.A rectangular notice board measures 150 cm by 80 cm. Work out its area in m².
- 4.A pop-up canopy has two sloping supports that meet at the top. Each support makes an angle of 30° with the ground and is 6 m long. Using the exact value of cos 30°, work out the total width of the canopy's base.
- 5.A rhombus has all four sides equal in length, but it is not a square — its angles are not all 90°. How many lines of symmetry does this rhombus have?
- 6.A right-angled triangle has two sides of length 5 cm and 12 cm, and the angle between those two sides is 90°. Work out the length of the hypotenuse.
- 7.A quadrilateral has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1), C(6, 4) and D(2, 4). By comparing the y-coordinates of A, B and of D, C, write down whether the sides AB and DC are parallel, and give a reason for your answer.
- 8.A locus is described as the set of points exactly 4 cm from a fixed point O. What shape is this locus?
- 9.Triangle LMN has a right angle at M, with hypotenuse LN = 15 cm and LM = 9 cm. Triangle PQR has a right angle at Q, with hypotenuse PR = 15 cm and PQ = 9 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 10.A sector of a circle has an angle of 150°. Work out what fraction of the circle's area the sector is.
- 11.The sum of the interior angles of a polygon is 1980°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 12.A tank holds 3.2 m³ of water. Work out this volume in litres.
- 13.The diagram shows a solid made from two cuboids joined together. Which shape is the front elevation of this solid?
- 14.Here are four trigonometric ratios of special angles. Write down the one that does not have a value.
- 15.A triangle has vertices X, Y and Z, with a right angle at Y. Side XY is twice as long as side YZ. Which of the following correctly describes this triangle?
