- 1.Put sin 30°, tan 30° and cos 30° in order of size, starting with the smallest.
- 2.Line 1 passes through (0, 1) and (2, 5). Line 2 passes through (3, 2) and (5, 6). Work out the gradient of each line. Then write down whether the two lines are parallel.
- 3.A chord is drawn across a circle, dividing the circle into two regions. Write down the name of one of these two regions.
- 4.Compasses are opened to exactly half the length of AB, and arcs are drawn centred at A and at B, to construct the perpendicular bisector of AB. Why does this fail?
- 5.Write down the number of lines of symmetry a rhombus has.
- 6.A picture frame is a rhombus with a diagonal of 16 cm and a diagonal of 12 cm. The two diagonals meet at right angles at their midpoints. Work out the length of one side of the rhombus.
- 7.Three of these are rational numbers and one is irrational. Write down the one that is irrational.
- 8.Two triangles are congruent to each other. What does this tell you about their angles and sides?
- 9.p is the column vector with top number 4 and bottom number −3. Work out 2p, giving your answer as a column vector in the form (top, bottom).
- 10.A conservatory has a roof panel shaped like a regular octagon. Work out the interior angle of the octagon, then use it to work out the size of the reflex angle at the same vertex, on the outside of the roof panel.
- 11.A garden bed is designed as a trapezium. The two parallel sides are 8 m and 12 m, and the perpendicular distance between them is 5 m. Grass seed covers 4 m² per bag, sold only in whole bags. Work out how many bags of grass seed are needed.
- 12.A textbook contains the instruction 'Draw AB' and, on the next line, the statement 'AB = 5 cm'. Which statement about the notation AB is correct?
- 13.Here are four trigonometric ratios of special angles. Write down the one that does not have a value.
- 14.The diagram shows a solid built from identical cubes. How many squares are in its plan view, the view looking straight down from above?
- 15.A triangle has vertices A(0, 0), B(10, 0) and C(5, 12). Work out the area of the triangle.
