- 1.Point E is at (4, 2). It is rotated 180° about the point (1, 1). Work out the coordinates of the image of point E.
- 2.The curved part of a circle's circumference, between two points on the circle, has its own name. Write down this name.
- 3.A hiker walks due west. What is the three-figure bearing for this direction?
- 4.The diagram shows a prism resting on a table. Which shape is its front elevation, the view looking at it from directly in front?
- 5.A ramp is built from two straight metal supports that rest on the flat ground and meet each other at the top, forming a triangle with the ground. One support meets the ground at 34°. The angle between the two supports where they meet is 71°. Work out the angle between the second support and the ground.
- 6.Quadrilateral PQRS has angle P = 92°, angle Q = 84° and angle R = 106°. Work out the size of angle S.
- 7.A trapezium has parallel sides of length 6 cm and 10 cm, and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. Work out its area.
- 8.The point (5, −2) is reflected in the x-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image point.
- 9.A ramp's sloped surface crosses two horizontal parallel rails. At the top rail, the angle between the ramp and the rail on the right of the ramp is (3x + 10)°. At the bottom rail, the angle between the ramp and the rail on the left of the ramp is (5x − 30)°. Work out the value of x.
- 10.m is the column vector with top number 3 and bottom number −4. Which of these column vectors is a scalar multiple of m?
- 11.In a right-angled triangle, the two shorter sides are a and b, and the hypotenuse is c. Write down the correct statement of Pythagoras' theorem.
- 12.After a translation by the vector , a point lands on (4, 1). Write down the coordinates of the point before the translation.
- 13.A tangent to a circle touches the circle at exactly one point, P. Work out the size of the angle between the tangent and the radius drawn to P.
- 14.Two triangles are similar. The sides of the first triangle are 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm. The shortest side of the second triangle is 9 cm. Work out the scale factor from the first triangle to the second.
- 15.A hexagonal prism lies on a table. A flat cut is made straight across it, at right angles to its length (so the cut is parallel to the two identical end faces). What shape is the cross-section?
