- 1.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 2.A solid has 6 faces and 8 vertices. Using the formula F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 3.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, the angle at A equals the angle at D, and AB ÷ DE = AC ÷ DF. Write down what this proves about the two triangles.
- 4.Write down the exact value of sin 60°.
- 5.A triangular prism has two triangular faces and three rectangular faces. How many vertices does a triangular prism have?
- 6.A roof truss has two horizontal parallel rafters, one above the other. A straight strut crosses both rafters. Where the strut crosses the lower rafter, the angle above the rafter and to the left of the strut is 65°. Work out the size of the angle above the upper rafter and to the right of the strut, where the strut crosses it.
- 7.A triangular prism has a cross-section that is a triangle with a base of 3.5 cm and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. The prism is 10 cm long. Work out the volume of the prism.
- 8.A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 10 cm. One of its other angles is 45°. Work out the exact length of one of the two shorter sides.
- 9.A trapezium-shaped garden bed has parallel sides of 2.5 m and 4.5 m, and a perpendicular width of 3 m. A gardener wants to know the area of the bed before ordering topsoil. Work out the area of the garden bed.
- 10.A line segment joins A(1, 1) and B(4, 7). Write down the sign of the gradient of this line.
- 11.Shape S has an area of 48 cm². It is enlarged by a scale factor of 1/4 to give shape T. Work out the area of shape T.
- 12.Priya says: 'To find the arc length of a sector, you divide the circumference by the angle in degrees.' Which statement about Priya's method is correct?
- 13.In triangle ABC and triangle DEF, AB = DE, angle ABC = angle DEF and BC = EF. Write down the congruence condition that proves the two triangles are congruent.
- 14.A trapezium has parallel sides of 16 cm and 24 cm, and a perpendicular height of 7 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
