- 1.A circle has circumference 31.4 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 2.Write down the exact value of tan 0°.
- 3.A train leaves Leeds at 08:47 and arrives in London at 11:05. Work out how long the journey takes.
- 4.How many vertices does a cuboid have?
- 5.A photograph is 10 cm wide and 15 cm tall. It is enlarged to make a similar poster that is 40 cm wide. The poster costs £0.80 per centimetre of its height to print, based on its full height. Work out the cost of printing the poster.
- 6.Two straight lines AB and CD cross at point O. Angle AOC = 74°. Work out angle AOD.
- 7.In a right-angled triangle, θ is one of the acute angles. Write down the trigonometric ratio, in terms of the opposite and adjacent sides, that is used to find θ.
- 8.A triangle has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1) and C(5, 4). Work out the lengths of AB, BC and CA, and write down whether triangle ABC is right-angled.
- 9.Work out the exact value of sin 30° + cos 60°.
- 10.A point is translated twice by the vector . Write down the single column vector that describes the overall translation.
- 11.A hexagonal prism lies on a table. A flat cut is made straight across it, at right angles to its length (so the cut is parallel to the two identical end faces). What shape is the cross-section?
- 12.Triangle A has a vertex at (1, 2). Triangle A is enlarged, centre (1, 1), to give triangle B, whose corresponding vertex is at (1, 5). Work out the scale factor of the enlargement.
- 13.The point (5, −2) is reflected in the x-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image point.
- 14.Write down the exact value of sin 0°.
- 15.Triangles ABE and CDE share the vertex E, where lines AC and BD cross at E. AE equals CE, and BE equals DE. Angle AEB and angle CED are formed as vertically opposite angles where the lines cross. Which condition proves that triangle ABE is congruent to triangle CDE?
