- 1.A parallelogram-shaped tile has two sides of 6 cm and 9 cm, with an angle of 60° between them. Work out the area of the tile. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 2.In triangle ABC, AB = 12 cm, AC = 7 cm and the area of the triangle is 33 cm². Given that angle BAC is obtuse, work out the size of angle BAC. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 3.In triangle ABC, AB = 12 cm, AC = 9 cm and angle BAC = 55°. Work out the size of angle ABC. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 4.A furniture catalogue drawing uses a scale of 1 cm to 1.5 m. A sofa in the drawing is measured as 7 cm long. What is the real length of the sofa, in metres?
- 5.A garden flower bed is in the shape of a trapezium. Its two parallel edges are 3.5 m and 6.5 m long, and the perpendicular distance between them is 4 m. Bedding plants cost £2.50 per square metre to cover the bed. Work out the total cost of the bedding plants.
- 6.A scale drawing uses a scale of 1 : 60. A path on the drawing is measured as 9.8 cm long. What is the real length of the path, in metres, to 1 decimal place?
- 7.ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral, with its vertices in that order around the circle. Angle DAB = 108°. Work out the size of angle BCD.
- 8.Two similar signs have lengths in the ratio 9 : 4. The larger sign has a side of length 14.4 cm. Work out the length of the corresponding side of the smaller sign.

- 11.In triangle ABC, AB = 6.4 cm, BC = 9.1 cm and AC = 12.8 cm. Work out the size of the largest angle in the triangle. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 12.A parallelogram has an area of 54 cm² and a base of 9 cm. Work out its perpendicular height.
- 13.A triangular plot of land has sides AB = 13 m and AC = 10 m, with angle BAC = 72° between them. Work out the perimeter of the plot. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 14.A car's windscreen wiper blade is 40 cm long and sweeps through an angle of 110° as it wipes the glass. Using π = 3.14, work out the area of glass it wipes, to the nearest cm².
- 15.A parallelogram has an area of 136 cm² and a base of 17 cm. Work out the perpendicular height of the parallelogram.
