- 1.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 2.Vertex X of a triangle is at (−3, 5). After a translation, the image of X is at (2, −1). Write down the column vector of this translation.
- 3.A drinks company sells a novelty giant bottle that is geometrically similar to its standard 500 ml bottle, scaled up by a length factor of 1.5. Work out the capacity of the giant bottle, in ml.
- 4.A plan of a car park is drawn to a scale of 1 : 500. A parking bay is drawn as a rectangle measuring 1.2 cm by 0.6 cm. The real width of the bay corresponds to the 0.6 cm side. What is the real width of the bay, in metres?
- 5.A circle has circumference 31.4 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 6.Triangle PQR has vertices P(0, 0), Q(9, 0) and R(0, 4). Work out the area of triangle PQR.
- 7.Triangle D has vertices (3, 1), (3, 5) and (6, 1). It is reflected in the line x = 3. Write down the number of vertices of the triangle that are invariant under this reflection.
- 8.Work out the gradient of the line segment joining A(2, 3) and B(6, 11).
- 9.A rhombus has all four sides equal in length. Which statement about a rhombus is correct?
- 10.A jug holds 750 ml of water. Work out what fraction of a litre this is.
- 11.In triangle XYZ, the side opposite vertex X is labelled using the standard lowercase-letter convention. Which label is correct?
- 12.A garden designer describes a flower bed as a shape with four straight sides: exactly one pair of sides is parallel, those two parallel sides are different lengths, and the other two sides are equal in length to each other but not parallel to each other. Which shape should the designer draw?
- 13.Which of the following is the correct definition of a regular polygon?
- 14.A quadrilateral has two pairs of parallel sides. All four of its interior angles are right angles, but its sides are not all the same length. Which quadrilateral is this?
- 15.Lines JK and LM are parallel. A straight line crosses JK at point P and crosses LM at point Q. Angle KPQ = 118°. Angle KPQ and angle MQP are co-interior (allied) angles. Work out angle MQP.
