- 1.A flight departs at 21:35 and lands at 06:10 the following morning. Work out the total flight time.
- 2.A recipe uses 160 g of flour. Sam wants to increase the amount by 1/4. Work out the new amount of flour.

- 4.A cheetah runs at a steady speed of 25 metres per second. Work out this speed in kilometres per hour.

- 8.A school council must choose a committee of 3 pupils from 8 volunteers. The three places on the committee are all the same, so only which pupils are chosen matters. Work out how many different committees could be formed.
- 9.A circle has a radius of 3 cm. Which of these is the exact area of the circle?
- 10.Work out (6 × 10⁷) + (3 × 10⁶). Give your answer in standard form.
- 11.A water tank holds 80 litres when full. It currently contains 60 litres. Work out what fraction of the tank is empty.
- 12.Write these numbers in order, starting with the smallest: −1.4, 5/4, −6/5, 1.3, 0
- 13.Four locations each record a temperature one winter morning. Which of these temperatures is the coldest?
- 14.By listing systematically, work out how many two-digit multiples of 5 can be made using the digits 0, 3 and 5, if each digit can be used at most once and the number cannot start with 0.
- 15.A digital timer truncates every time to 1 decimal place. It shows a swimmer's time for one length as 12.3 seconds. Using t for the swimmer's actual time in seconds, write down the error interval for t.
