- 1.Work out 10% of 30% of £200.
- 2.A café buys 18 boxes of teabags at £3.45 each, and sells all the teabags for £108 in total. Work out the café's profit.

- 4.A charity bake sale sells 187 cakes at £2.95 each. By rounding each number to 1 significant figure, work out an estimate for the total amount raised.

- 10.The distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,000 km. Write this distance in standard form, in kilometres.
- 11.Put these numbers in order, starting with the smallest: 3.2 × 10⁴, 2.9 × 10⁵, 4.1 × 10³
- 12.p = 24 and q = 6, each correct to the nearest integer. Work out the greatest degree of accuracy to which p ÷ q can be guaranteed correct.
- 13.The thickness of a sheet of card is 0.02384 cm. Write this thickness correct to 2 significant figures.
- 14.A cheetah runs at a steady speed of 25 metres per second. Work out this speed in kilometres per hour.
- 15.A van has a mass of 2,000 kg, correct to 1 significant figure. Using m for the mass of the van in kilograms, write down the error interval for m.
