- 1.A photograph uses 4 × 10⁶ bytes of storage. A memory card holds 3.2 × 10¹⁰ bytes. Work out how many of these photographs the card can hold. Give your answer in standard form.
- 2.Four friends share a restaurant bill of £53.90 equally. A calculator gives each share as 13.475. Work out how much each friend should pay.
- 3.A bag holds 5 different sweets. Noah takes 2 of the sweets out of the bag together, so the order in which he takes them does not matter. Work out how many different pairs of sweets he could take.

- 11.A café buys 18 boxes of teabags at £3.45 each, and sells all the teabags for £108 in total. Work out the café's profit.
- 12.A café orders 340 bread rolls at 24p each and 85 cakes at £1.35 each. Work out the total cost of the order.
- 13.A washing machine costs £320 before VAT. VAT is charged at 20%. Work out the total price including VAT.
- 14.The distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,000 km. Write this distance in standard form, in kilometres.
- 15.The thickness of a sheet of card is 0.02384 cm. Write this thickness correct to 2 significant figures.
