- 10.A phone plan costs a fixed £15 per month plus 8p per minute of calls. In one month, Jamal's bill was £23.80. Form an equation using m for the number of minutes, and solve it to find how many minutes Jamal used that month.
- 11.A plumber charges a call-out fee of £30 plus £25 for each hour worked. The total bill for a job was £130. Work out how many hours the plumber worked.
- 12.Harry is 14 years old and Mia is 8 years old. Will Harry ever be exactly twice as old as Mia? Give a reason for your answer.
- 13.Priya buys b balloons for a party. Each balloon costs 15p. Write down an expression for the total cost, in pence.
- 14.Jack is x years old. His brother Kwame is 3 years older than Jack. Write down an expression for Kwame's age.
- 15.A number, n, is doubled and then 7 is subtracted. The result is 15. Form an equation and solve it to find n.
