- 1.A circle has centre O. Radii OA and OB are drawn, together with the arc AB, enclosing a sector. The straight chord AB is also drawn. Write down the name of the region enclosed between the chord AB and the arc AB.
- 2.A circle is drawn on a page. Write down how many radii can be drawn in the circle.
- 3.A diameter divides a circle into two equal halves. Write down the special name given to each of these two halves.
- 4.A circle has circumference 31.4 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 5.A tangent touches a circle with centre O at the point P. Q is a point on the tangent. Write down the circle fact that tells you the size of angle OPQ.
- 6.A chord divides a circle into two segments of different sizes. Write down the name given to the smaller of the two segments.
- 7.A trundle wheel has a diameter of 0.5 m. It is rolled along the ground and makes 20 complete turns. Using π = 3.14, work out the total distance rolled, in metres.

- 9.A circle has diameter 10 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the circumference of the circle.
- 10.A straight line touches the edge of a circle at exactly one point and does not cross into the circle at all. Write down the term for this line.
- 11.Write down the term for the distance all the way around the edge of a circle.
- 12.A tangent to a circle touches the circle at exactly one point, P. Work out the size of the angle between the tangent and the radius drawn to P.
- 13.A circular table mat has diameter 20 cm. Yasmin has a 70 cm length of ribbon and sews it around the edge of the mat with no overlap. Using π = 3.14, work out how much ribbon is left over after going around the mat once.
- 14.A tangent to a circle with centre O touches the circle at point P, where OP = 5 cm. Point Q lies on the tangent so that PQ = 12 cm. Using the fact that a tangent is perpendicular to the radius at the point of contact, work out the length OQ.
- 15.A sector of a circle has an angle of 90° at the centre. Write down what fraction of the whole circle this sector represents.
