- 1.A triangular bunting flag has two equal sides. The angle between those two equal sides is 80°, and the other two angles of the flag are equal to each other. Work out the size of each of the two equal angles.
- 2.A tile is described as having two pairs of parallel sides, four equal sides, and diagonals that cross at right angles but are not equal in length. Give a reason why this tile cannot be a square.
- 3.In an isosceles triangle each of the two base angles is 46°. Work out the size of the angle at the apex.
- 4.A rhombus has all four sides equal in length. Write down how many pairs of parallel sides a rhombus has.
- 5.Write down which one of these quadrilaterals always has diagonals that are equal in length and that cross at right angles.
- 6.Write down the number of lines of symmetry a rhombus has.
- 7.Write down the mathematical name for a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 8.Two sides of a triangle are 20 cm and 8 cm long. Write down which one of these lengths is possible for the third side.
- 9.In parallelogram ABCD the vertices are labelled in order round the shape, so angle A and angle B are at the two ends of the same side. Angle A is 70°. Work out the size of angle B.
- 10.The three angles of a triangle are 10°, 58° and 112°. Write down the name that describes this triangle.
- 11.Quadrilateral PQRS has angle P = 92°, angle Q = 84° and angle R = 106°. Work out the size of angle S.
- 12.In quadrilateral ABCD the two sides AB and BC are each 6 cm long and meet each other at B. The two sides CD and DA are each 9 cm long and meet each other at D. No side of ABCD is parallel to any other side. Write down the mathematical name of this quadrilateral.
- 13.Write down the name given to a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
- 14.The cross-section of a tent is an isosceles triangle. The angle at the top, between the two equal sloping sides, is 62°. The other two angles are equal to each other. Work out the size of each of those two angles.
- 15.ABCD is an isosceles trapezium. The sides AB and DC are parallel, and the two sloping sides AD and BC are equal in length. Angle D is 112°. Work out the size of angle B.
