- 1.A hexagon has interior angles of 130°, 142°, 125°, 150°, 135° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 2.A square-based pyramid has a square base and four identical triangular sloping faces, with its apex directly above the centre of the base. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 3.m is the column vector with top number 3 and bottom number −4. Which of these column vectors is a scalar multiple of m?
- 4.Write down the column vector that describes a translation of 4 units to the right and 4 units up.
- 5.A translation is described by the column vector . Write down the column vector of the translation that undoes it.
- 6.A circular pizza base has a radius of 12 cm. Work out the area of the pizza base. Use π = 3.14.
- 7.A hexagonal prism has 8 faces and 12 vertices. Using F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 8.A bus journey takes 2.5 hours. Work out how many minutes this is.
- 9.Point A is at (2, 3). It is translated by the vector (4, −1) to give point A′. Work out the coordinates of A′.
- 10.A hexagonal prism lies on a table. A flat cut is made straight across it, at right angles to its length (so the cut is parallel to the two identical end faces). What shape is the cross-section?
- 11.A straight line crosses two parallel lines. An angle of 65° is formed at one crossing. At the other crossing, the angle that lies between the two parallel lines on the opposite side of the crossing line is also 65°. Write down the angle fact that explains why these two angles are equal.
- 12.A shape is made by joining two rectangles edge to edge, with no overlap. One rectangle measures 12 cm by 4 cm and the other measures 4 cm by 8 cm. Work out the total area of the shape.
- 13.A diameter divides a circle into two equal halves. Write down the special name given to each of these two halves.
- 14.A tank holds 3.2 m³ of water. Work out this volume in litres.
- 15.A rectangular notice board measures 150 cm by 80 cm. Work out its area in m².
