- 1.Lines AB and CD are parallel. A straight line EF crosses AB at point P and crosses CD at point Q. At P, angle APE = 65°. Angle APE and angle BPQ are vertically opposite. Angle BPQ and angle PQD are co-interior (allied) angles. Work out angle PQD.
- 2.A ramp rises at 30° to the horizontal. Its sloping surface is 4.8 m long. Safety rules say the vertical rise of a ramp must be no more than 2.5 m. Work out how far below that limit the rise of this ramp is.

- 4.A line segment joins A(1, 1) and B(4, 7). Write down the sign of the gradient of this line.
- 5.A circle has circumference 31.4 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.

- 7.An angle is measured with a protractor as 47°. What type of angle is this?
- 8.A quadrilateral has vertices A(1, 1), B(5, 1), C(6, 4) and D(2, 4). By comparing the y-coordinates of A, B and of D, C, write down whether the sides AB and DC are parallel, and give a reason for your answer.
- 9.A diameter divides a circle into two equal halves. Write down the special name given to each of these two halves.
- 10.A composite solid is made from a cylinder of radius 3 cm and height 10 cm, with a cone of the same radius and vertical height 4 cm fixed on top, apex upward. Work out the total volume of the solid. Use π = 3.14 and give your answer correct to 1 decimal place.
- 11.A plan of a car park is drawn to a scale of 1 : 500. A parking bay is drawn as a rectangle measuring 1.2 cm by 0.6 cm. The real width of the bay corresponds to the 0.6 cm side. What is the real width of the bay, in metres?
- 12.In kite WXYZ, WX = WZ and XY = ZY (so at each of X and Z, one side from each of the two unequal pairs meets). Angle X = 100°. Work out angle Z.
- 13.A straight line touches the edge of a circle at exactly one point and does not cross into the circle at all. Write down the term for this line.
- 14.A trapezium has parallel sides of 5.6 cm and 8.4 cm, and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. Work out the area of the trapezium.
- 15.A solid has two parallel, congruent polygon faces joined by flat rectangles, and its cross-section is the same shape all the way along its length. Which solid is it?
