- 1.Triangle ABC is drawn. The interior angle bisectors from vertices A and B are constructed and meet at point I inside the triangle. Which statement about point I must be true?
- 2.A designer enlarges a drawing of a model car for a poster. She first enlarges the drawing by a scale factor of 1.5, and then enlarges that result by a further scale factor of 2. On the original drawing, the position of a wheel relative to the front bumper is given by the column vector with top number 4 and bottom number −3, in centimetres. What is the corresponding column vector on the poster, in centimetres?
- 3.A square has sides of length 7 cm. Work out its area.
- 4.Point D is at (3, 4). It is rotated 90° clockwise about the origin (0, 0). Work out the coordinates of the image of point D.
- 5.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 6.A pin on a map is at grid reference (5, 2). It is moved by the vector . Write down its new grid reference.
- 7.A courier drone delivers a parcel. It starts at the point (2, 1) on a map grid measured in kilometres. It flies by the vector to a warehouse, then by the vector to the delivery address. Work out the coordinates of the delivery address.
- 8.Two sides of a triangle are 20 cm and 8 cm long. Write down which one of these lengths is possible for the third side.
- 9.A sector has an angle of 45°. Priti says: 'The area of the sector is one eighth of the area of the full circle, whatever the radius is.' Is Priti correct?
- 10.Work out the exact value of (cos 45°)² + (sin 45°)².
- 11.A circular clock face has a diameter of 18 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14.
- 12.A parallelogram has an area of 136 cm² and a base of 17 cm. Work out the perpendicular height of the parallelogram.
- 13.A line segment is measured with a ruler and found to be 6.5 cm long. What is this length in millimetres?
- 14.A warehouse stores identical cube-shaped crates. Its plan view is a 2 by 4 rectangle of crate positions, and every position is filled to a height of 3 crates, except one corner position, which has only 2 crates stacked on it because a delivery was incomplete. How many crates are there in total?
- 15.Point M lies exactly halfway between point A and point B, with A, M and B all on the same straight line. Which term correctly describes point M?
