- 1.A circle has diameter 10 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the circumference of the circle.
- 2.The point A(3, 2) is translated by the vector (−5, 4) to give point B. Work out the coordinates of B.
- 3.A goat is tied by a rope 7 m long to a post at a corner of a rectangular field, where two fences meet at a right angle. The goat can reach anywhere inside the field that the rope allows. Using π = 3.14, work out the area the goat can graze, to the nearest square metre.
- 4.A shape is translated by the vector and then by the vector . Write down the single column vector that has the same effect as those two translations together.
- 5.A square tile has sides of length 6 cm. Work out the area of the tile.
- 6.In a right-angled triangle, θ is one of the acute angles. Write down the trigonometric ratio, in terms of the opposite and adjacent sides, that is used to find θ.
- 7.Write down the name given to a triangle whose three sides are all the same length.
- 8.Triangle DEF is isosceles, with DE = DF. Angle E = 58°. Work out angle F.
- 9.The column vector r has top number 2 and bottom number 6. Which of these column vectors is parallel to r?
- 10.A circle has a diameter of 24 cm. A sector of this circle has an angle of 90°. Using π = 3.14, work out the area of the sector.
- 11.A circular pizza base has a radius of 12 cm. Work out the area of the pizza base. Use π = 3.14.
- 12.Point M lies exactly halfway between point A and point B, with A, M and B all on the same straight line. Which term correctly describes point M?
- 13.The diagram shows a prism resting on a table. Which shape is its front elevation, the view looking at it from directly in front?
- 14.A zip-wire is fixed at an angle of 60° to the horizontal ground. The zip-wire is 12 m long. Using the exact value of cos 60°, work out the exact horizontal distance it covers.
- 15.Point A has coordinates (2, 5). Point A is translated to point B using the column vector with top number 6 and bottom number −3. Write down the coordinates of point B.
