- 1.A sector of a circle has an angle of 150°. Work out what fraction of the circle's area the sector is.
- 2.A solid has a plan view that is a circle, and a front elevation that is a triangle. Which solid is this?
- 3.A zip wire is fixed at an angle of 50° to the horizontal, running from a high platform down to the ground. The zip wire itself, from the platform to the ground, is 12 m long. Work out the horizontal distance covered by the zip wire. Give your answer correct to 1 decimal place.
- 4.A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 10 cm and one of its other angles is 45°. Work out the length of one of the two shorter sides. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 5.Point A has coordinates (2, 5). Point A is translated to point B using the column vector with top number 6 and bottom number −3. Write down the coordinates of point B.
- 6.A sector of a circle has radius 10 cm and angle 72°. Using π = 3.14, work out the arc length of the sector.
- 7.a is the column vector with top number 3 and bottom number −2. Work out 4a, giving your answer as a column vector in the form (top, bottom).
- 8.Postcard P is similar to postcard Q. The 6 cm side of P corresponds to the 15 cm side of Q, and the 8 cm side of P corresponds to a matching side of Q. Work out the length of that matching side of Q.
- 9.A plan of a car park is drawn to a scale of 1 : 500. A parking bay is drawn as a rectangle measuring 1.2 cm by 0.6 cm. The real width of the bay corresponds to the 0.6 cm side. What is the real width of the bay, in metres?
- 10.The midpoint of the line segment AB is (3, 5). A is the point (1, 3). Work out the coordinates of B.
- 11.Write down which one of these statements about quadrilaterals is true.
- 12.State whether the line segment joining A(−4, 3) and B(2, 6) is horizontal, vertical or neither, and give a reason for your answer.
- 13.A sector of a circle has an angle of 90° and an arc length of 15.7 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the radius of the circle.
- 14.A perpendicular bisector is drawn through the midpoint of a line segment AB. Which set of points does this construction show?
- 15.Point C is at (5, 2). It is reflected in the x-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image of point C.
