- 1.Triangle T has a vertex at (2, 1). It is enlarged by a scale factor of 3, centre (0, 0). Work out the coordinates of the image of this vertex.
- 2.A regular polygon has an exterior angle of 45°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 3.In quadrilateral ABCD, side AB is parallel to side DC. Which statement correctly uses geometric notation to show this?
- 4.A right-angled triangle has angles of 90°, 40° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 5.A triangle has vertices A(0, 0), B(10, 0) and C(5, 12). Work out the area of the triangle.
- 6.A cylindrical water tank has a solid hemispherical dome on top, both with radius 2 m. Work out the volume of the hemispherical dome alone. Use π = 3.14 and give your answer correct to 3 decimal places.
- 7.A solid has 4 triangular faces, 4 vertices and 6 edges. What is the name of this solid?
- 8.A bead starts at position (2, −1) on a grid, in centimetres. It is moved by the column vector u, with top number 3 and bottom number 5, and then moved by the column vector v, with top number −7 and bottom number 2. Work out the coordinates of the bead's final position.
- 9.A wooden cube has edges of length 4 cm. Work out the total surface area of the cube.
- 10.A shape is translated by the vector , and one vertex of the image is at the point (1, 6). The original shape is instead translated by the vector . Work out the coordinates of the image of that same vertex under this second translation.
- 11.In a right-angled triangle one of the other two angles is 45°, and the side opposite that 45° angle is 7 cm. Work out the length of the hypotenuse. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 12.A cube has all of its edges the same length. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 13.A shopkeeper builds a display from two cuboid boxes, shown in the diagram. She wants to cover the front of the display with coloured paper. Work out the total area of the front elevation, in square centimetres.
- 14.A written description of a diagram states: 'AB is marked with a single arrow, CD is marked with a single arrow, and EF is marked with a double arrow.' Using the standard convention for marking parallel lines, what can be concluded?
- 15.A bearing is described as being exactly halfway between north and east, measured clockwise. What is the three-figure bearing?
