- 1.A shop sells a scale model of a van. The model and the real van are similar shapes, with lengths in the ratio 1 : 24. The model is 18.5 cm long. Work out the length of the real van, giving your answer in metres.
- 2.A picture frame is a rhombus with a diagonal of 16 cm and a diagonal of 12 cm. The two diagonals meet at right angles at their midpoints. Work out the length of one side of the rhombus.
- 3.In this question, a curved surface counts as a face. How many faces does a cone have?
- 4.A regular polygon has an exterior angle of 45°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 5.A straight fence is 5 m long. Describe the shape of the region made up of every point on the ground within 2 m of any part of the fence.

- 10.Two similar flags have widths in the ratio 2 : 5. The width of the smaller flag is 8 cm. Work out the width of the larger flag.
- 11.A tent is shaped like a triangular prism: two triangular end faces and three rectangular faces. One of the rectangular faces lies flat on the ground as the groundsheet. How many of the tent's faces are above the ground, not touching the ground?
- 12.In triangle PQR and triangle STU, PQ = ST, QR = TU and PR = SU. Write down the congruence condition that proves the two triangles are congruent.
- 13.ABCD is an isosceles trapezium. The sides AB and DC are parallel, and the two sloping sides AD and BC are equal in length. Angle D is 112°. Work out the size of angle B.
- 14.The curved part of a circle's circumference, between two points on the circle, has its own name. Write down this name.
- 15.A triangular flag has a base of 40 cm and a perpendicular height of 25 cm. Work out its area.
