- 1.A hexagon has interior angles of 130°, 142°, 125°, 150°, 135° and x°. Work out the value of x.
- 2.A circular clock face has a radius of 9 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
- 3.A solid is built from centimetre cubes: a base layer of 2 rows of 3 cubes each (a 3 by 2 rectangle of cubes), with one extra cube placed on top of one corner cube of that base. Looking down from directly above (the plan view), how many squares are visible?
- 4.Two triangles are congruent to each other. What does this tell you about their angles and sides?
- 5.A sector has an angle of 45°. Priti says: 'The area of the sector is one eighth of the area of the full circle, whatever the radius is.' Is Priti correct?
- 6.Work out the length of the straight line segment joining the points (2, −4) and (−3, −4).
- 7.A diameter divides a circle into two equal halves. Write down the special name given to each of these two halves.
- 8.A chord divides a circle into two segments of different sizes. Write down the name given to the smaller of the two segments.
- 9.The perimeter of a square is 20 cm. Work out the area of the square.
- 10.Triangle ABC is similar to triangle PQR. AB corresponds to PQ, and BC corresponds to QR. AB = 5 cm, PQ = 15 cm and BC = 7 cm. Work out the length of QR.
- 11.A sprinkler waters a sector-shaped patch of a garden with radius 8 m and angle 90°. Work out the perimeter of the watered sector, to 1 decimal place. (Use π = 3.14.)
- 12.Two angles lie on a straight line. One angle is 37°. Work out the size of the other angle.
- 13.A fish tank is a cuboid measuring 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high. Water is poured in to a depth of 20 cm. Work out the volume of water in the tank, in litres.
- 14.A water tank is a cube with edges of length 2 m. Work out how many cubic centimetres the tank holds when it is full.
- 15.The point A(3, 2) is translated by the vector (−5, 4) to give point B. Work out the coordinates of B.
