- 1.Triangle ABC has a right angle at B, hypotenuse AC = 13 cm and AB = 5 cm. Triangle DEF has a right angle at E, hypotenuse DF = 13 cm and DE = 5 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 2.Write down the number of lines of symmetry a rhombus has.
- 3.A quadrilateral has exactly two lines of symmetry, its two pairs of opposite angles are equal, and its diagonals are not equal in length. Write down the name of this quadrilateral.
- 4.A circular clock face has a diameter of 18 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14.
- 5.A flagpole is 12 m tall. Freya stands 9 m from the base of the flagpole on level ground. Work out the angle of elevation of the top of the flagpole from where Freya stands. Give your answer correct to 1 decimal place.
- 6.A straight line crosses a pair of parallel lines. At one of the crossing points, one of the four angles measures 55°. Work out the size of the angle next to it on a straight line at that crossing point.
- 7.A rectangular photograph is 12 cm long and 5 cm wide. Work out the perimeter of the photograph.
- 8.Write down the exact value of sin 60°.
- 9.The sum of the interior angles of a polygon is 1980°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 10.A crane's hook starts at the point (3.4, 9.5) on a construction site plan measured in metres. It moves along the vector to pick up a beam, then along the vector to place it. Work out the single column vector that describes the hook's overall movement from its start position to where it places the beam.
- 11.An isosceles trapezium has exactly one pair of parallel sides, and its two non-parallel sides are equal in length. How many lines of symmetry does it have?
- 12.A diameter divides a circle into two equal halves. Write down the special name given to each of these two halves.
- 13.A shape is translated by the vector and then by the vector . Write down the single column vector that has the same effect as those two translations together.
- 14.A courier drone delivers a parcel. It starts at the point (2, 1) on a map grid measured in kilometres. It flies by the vector to a warehouse, then by the vector to the delivery address. Work out the coordinates of the delivery address.
- 15.A circle is drawn on a page. Write down how many radii can be drawn in the circle.
