- 1.A hexagonal prism has 8 faces and 12 vertices. Using F + V − E = 2, work out how many edges it has.
- 2.Write down the exact value of tan 45°.
- 3.A shape is translated by the vector . The point P(6, 1) lies on the shape. Write down the coordinates of the image of P.
- 4.A solid is a single cube. Its plan view (from above), front elevation (from the front) and side elevation (from the side) are drawn separately. What shape is each of these three views?
- 5.A parallelogram has a base of 20 cm and a sloping side of 13 cm. The perpendicular drawn from the top of that sloping side down to the base meets the base 5 cm from the foot of the sloping side, so the perpendicular, the 5 cm and the 13 cm sloping side form a right-angled triangle. Work out the area of the parallelogram.
- 6.A cylinder has a radius of 3 cm and a height of 10 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the volume of the cylinder. Give your answer to the nearest whole number of cubic centimetres.
- 7.A ramp rises at 30° to the horizontal. Its sloping surface is 4.8 m long. Safety rules say the vertical rise of a ramp must be no more than 2.5 m. Work out how far below that limit the rise of this ramp is.
- 8.A fish tank is a cuboid measuring 40 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high. Water is poured in to a depth of 20 cm. Work out the volume of water in the tank, in litres.
- 9.A circular coin has a diameter of 3 cm. Work out the circumference of the coin. Give your answer in terms of π.
- 10.Loose sweets are sold at £1.20 per 100 g. Work out the cost of 350 g of sweets.
- 11.A straight line touches the edge of a circle at exactly one point and does not cross into the circle at all. Write down the term for this line.
- 12.Write down the exact value of sin 0°.
- 13.The point A(2, 5) is translated to the point B(7, 3). Write down the column vector that describes this translation.
- 14.A circle has a radius of 1 cm. Work out the circumference of the circle. Give your answer in terms of π.
- 15.A triangle has a base of 8 cm and a perpendicular height of 5 cm. Work out its area.
