- 1.A circular clock face has a diameter of 18 cm. Work out the circumference of the clock face. Use π = 3.14.
- 2.A cuboid has a length, width and height that are all different from each other. How many planes of symmetry does it have?
- 3.Write down the exact value of sin 60°.
- 4.Lines GH and JK are parallel. A straight line crosses GH at point M and crosses JK at point N. Angle HMN = 71°. Angle HMN and angle MNK are alternate angles. Work out angle MNK.
- 5.A locus consists of all the points that are the same perpendicular distance from two parallel lines 6 cm apart. Describe this locus.
- 6.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and an arc length of 15.7 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the angle of the sector.
- 7.Two angles are supplementary. One of them is twice the size of the other. Work out the size of the smaller angle.
- 8.Point C is at (5, 2). It is reflected in the x-axis. Work out the coordinates of the image of point C.
- 9.In a kite, one pair of opposite angles are equal in size. In kite WXYZ, angle X = 40° and angle Z = 100° are the two angles that are NOT equal to each other. The other two angles, W and Y, are equal to each other. Work out the size of angle W.
- 10.Triangle ABC has AB = 8 cm, angle B = 50° and BC = 6 cm. Triangle DEF has DE = 8 cm, angle E = 50° and EF = 6 cm. Which condition proves the two triangles are congruent?
- 11.A tank holds 3.2 m³ of water. Work out this volume in litres.
- 12.A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 14 cm. One of the other angles is 30°. Work out the exact length of the side opposite the 30° angle.
- 13.Four angles meet at a point. Three of them measure 82°, 105° and 96°. Work out the size of the fourth angle.
- 14.A trapezium-shaped allotment plot has two parallel sides that face each other, and two sloping sides that are equal in length (an isosceles trapezium). One of the angles next to the shorter parallel side is 118°. Work out the angle next to the other end of the same shorter parallel side.
- 15.Two angles lie on a straight line. One angle is 37°. Work out the size of the other angle.
