- 1.A survey team measures the angle between two fences with a protractor and gets a reading of 254°. What type of angle is this?
- 2.A triangular prism has two triangular faces and three rectangular faces. How many vertices does a triangular prism have?
- 3.Two angles lie on a straight line. One angle is 37°. Work out the size of the other angle.
- 4.A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 8 cm, and one of its shorter sides is 4 cm. Work out the size of the angle between that 4 cm side and the hypotenuse.
- 5.Point B is at (3, 5). It is reflected in the line y = 2. Work out the coordinates of the image of point B.
- 6.A sector of a circle has radius 9 cm and angle 60°. Using π = 3.14, work out the area of the sector, to 1 decimal place.
- 7.A footpath is 3750 m long. Work out this distance in kilometres.
- 8.In triangle ABC, point D lies on side AB and point E lies on side AC, so that DE is parallel to BC. AD = 3 cm, DB = 6 cm and DE = 4 cm. Work out the length of BC.
- 9.Here are four trigonometric ratios of special angles. Write down the one that does not have a value.
- 10.A sector of a circle has radius 10 cm and angle 150°. Using π = 3.14, work out the perimeter of the sector, to 1 decimal place.
- 11.Which of the following is NOT one of the four basic conditions used to prove two triangles are congruent?
- 12.A textbook contains the instruction 'Draw AB' and, on the next line, the statement 'AB = 5 cm'. Which statement about the notation AB is correct?
- 13.A triangular prism has a cross-section that is a triangle with a base of 3.5 cm and a perpendicular height of 4 cm. The prism is 10 cm long. Work out the volume of the prism.
- 14.All four sides of a rhombus are the same length. One side of a rhombus is 7 cm long. Work out the perimeter of the rhombus.
- 15.Triangle ABC has a right angle at B and hypotenuse AC = 17 cm, with AB = 8 cm. Triangle DEF has a right angle at E and hypotenuse DF = 17 cm. Which extra fact about DEF would complete the RHS condition for proving that ABC ≅ DEF, with the vertices matching in that order?
