- 1.A solid metal sphere has a radius of 5 cm. It is melted down and recast into a solid cylinder with the same radius, 5 cm. Work out the height of the cylinder, so that its volume equals the volume of the sphere. Use π = 3.14 and give your answer correct to 1 decimal place.
- 2.A straight line passes through points A, B and C, with B between A and C. A fourth point D is not on the line. Angle ABD = 132°. Work out the size of angle DBC.
- 3.A rectangular name card has a perimeter of 30 cm. The card is 9 cm long. Work out the width of the card.
- 4.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and an arc length of 15.7 cm. Using π = 3.14, work out the angle of the sector.
- 5.Vector A is and vector B is . Write down how vector B compares to vector A.
- 6.Two triangles are congruent to each other. What does this tell you about their angles and sides?
- 7.A sector of a circle has radius 12 cm and angle 45°. Using π = 3.14, work out the area of the sector.
- 8.A line segment is measured with a ruler and found to be 6.5 cm long. What is this length in millimetres?
- 9.Line 1 passes through (0, 1) and (2, 5). Line 2 passes through (3, 2) and (5, 6). Work out the gradient of each line. Then write down whether the two lines are parallel.
- 10.A solid cube has a volume of 8 cm³. Work out the length of one edge of the cube.
- 11.A is the point (1, 3) and B is the point (7, 3). Work out the coordinates of the midpoint of AB.
- 12.In a kite, one pair of opposite angles are equal in size. In kite WXYZ, angle X = 40° and angle Z = 100° are the two angles that are NOT equal to each other. The other two angles, W and Y, are equal to each other. Work out the size of angle W.
- 13.A sector of a circle has radius 10 cm and angle 72°. Using π = 3.14, work out the arc length of the sector.
- 14.The sum of the interior angles of a polygon is 1980°. Work out the number of sides of the polygon.
- 15.In a construction, a point P is marked at the foot of the perpendicular drawn from point X to a straight line. Which statement correctly compares the distance XP with the distance from X to any other point on the line?
