- 1.Triangle DEF is isosceles, with DE = DF. Angle E = 58°. Work out angle F.
- 2.Write down how many right angles a rectangle has.
- 3.A solid has 10 vertices and 15 edges. Using the formula F + V − E = 2, work out how many faces it has.
- 4.A sector of a circle has radius 6 cm and angle 60°. Work out the arc length of the sector, in terms of π.
- 5.Triangle PQR has vertices P(0, 0), Q(6, 0) and R(0, 8). Work out the perimeter of the triangle.
- 6.A square-based pyramid is cut by a flat plane parallel to its base, partway up between the base and the apex. What shape is the cross-section?
- 7.A solid is built from centimetre cubes: a base layer of 2 rows of 3 cubes each (a 3 by 2 rectangle of cubes), with one extra cube placed on top of one corner cube of that base. Looking down from directly above (the plan view), how many squares are visible?
- 8.Write down the exact value of tan 45°.
- 9.Work out the exact value of sin 45° × cos 45°.
- 10.Two similar triangles have lengths in the ratio 5 : 8. A side of the smaller triangle is 6.5 cm. Work out the length of the corresponding side of the larger triangle.
- 11.In a right-angled triangle, the two shorter sides are a and b, and the hypotenuse is c. Write down the correct statement of Pythagoras' theorem.
- 12.A garden bed is designed as a trapezium. The two parallel sides are 8 m and 12 m, and the perpendicular distance between them is 5 m. Grass seed covers 4 m² per bag, sold only in whole bags. Work out how many bags of grass seed are needed.
- 13.Two angles are complementary. One of them is 35°. Work out the size of the other angle.
- 14.A trapezium-shaped garden bed has parallel sides of 2.5 m and 4.5 m, and a perpendicular width of 3 m. A gardener wants to know the area of the bed before ordering topsoil. Work out the area of the garden bed.
- 15.A shape is translated by the vector and then by the vector . Write down the single column vector that has the same effect as those two translations together.
